Jamie Miller nearly quit music this year. Now Babydoll is the second biggest song in the UK

The story
At the start of this year Jamie Miller was ready to walk away. The singer from Cardiff says he could not make the money work anymore and treated 2026 as his last chance. Then his song Babydoll took off on social media over the summer, sparked a viral dance, and turned into his first UK top 10 hit.
On Friday the song climbed from number three to number two in the official UK chart, held off only by Taylor Swift's Patient Zero. It has also topped the US iTunes pop chart.
One of the biggest moments came when Off Campus actor Antonio Cipriano commented that he needed the song. Miller messaged him about doing a version together, then panicked and added that he was joking. Cipriano wrote back that he would be honoured. They recorded it the day they first met in Los Angeles, where Miller now lives, and later performed together while Miller was opening for the Jonas Brothers in the US.
Miller, who is 29 and came third on The Voice UK at 19, laughs off claims that he is an industry plant, saying he has been at this for nine years. He says he just wanted to go out his own way and have fun, and that he hopes he is doing Wales proud.
