Unbeaten Everton test a Chelsea defence that has already let in 13 goals

The story
Everton still haven't lost a Premier League game this season, and Chelsea get the next shot at changing that when the two meet at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday. Kick off is 12:30 p.m. UK time, which is 7:30 a.m. on the East Coast. Chelsea arrive on a high after hammering Bournemouth 5 to 1 last weekend, a result that ended a run of three games without a win. The trouble is at the other end. They have conceded 13 league goals already, more than twice as many as Everton, and Xabi Alonso has made no secret that his back line needs to get tighter. He'll have to sort that out without Reece James. The captain hurt his knee in training before the Bournemouth game and has had surgery. Alonso wouldn't put a date on his return, saying only that it won't be short, and he could be out for around three months. Jamie Gittens and Emmanuel Emegha are missing too, so Jordan Henderson and Moises Caicedo should keep running the middle. For Everton, David Moyes says Jarrad Branthwaite has a problem that could keep him out, while Vitaliy Mykolenko has a chance to play. Michael Keane is ready to step in at the back if needed. Moyes called Chelsea's attack really exciting, but pointed out that the open style that wins them games can lose them games too. Recent history leans toward the home side. Chelsea have lost six of their last nine visits to Everton, and they haven't kept a clean sheet in 22 league games.
