Real Madrid call for La Liga chief Javier Tebas to quit after he compares the club to Goebbels

The story
Real Madrid have demanded that La Liga president Javier Tebas step down at once after he compared the way the club talks about referees to the propaganda methods of Nazi Germany.
Tebas made the comparison on Friday in a long social media post aimed at Real Madrid TV, the club's own channel. He likened its approach to that of Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi regime's propaganda minister, and accused Madrid of using propaganda techniques to discredit match officials.
The channel regularly airs video packages of what it sees as major refereeing mistakes, often focused on officials who are due to take charge of Madrid's upcoming games.
Madrid responded by calling for his "immediate resignation" and pointed to what the club described as constant attacks from the league president. This is not the first time the club has asked Tebas to go.
The row is the latest clash in a long and bitter relationship between Spain's most successful club and the man who runs its top league, and it is unlikely to calm the wider argument in Spanish football over how referees are treated.
