Kenya confirms a third Ebola case, tied to the country's first patient

The story
Kenya has recorded a third case of Ebola, health officials in Nairobi said on Friday.
The new patient is a woman aged 65 who has been placed in quarantine. Officials say her infection is linked to the first person diagnosed with the disease in Kenya, who later died.
Tests show she has the Bundibugyo strain, one of several types of the Ebola virus. It takes its name from the district in western Uganda where it was first identified.
Officials stressed that so far they have found no evidence of community transmission, meaning the cases they know about can all be traced back to the same chain of contact.
Ebola spreads through close contact with the blood or body fluids of someone who is sick, which is why tracing and isolating contacts is the main tool health workers rely on.
